Due to this potential vulnerability and HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows reaching end-of-support life, the software has been removed from hp.com.

Remediation

HP recommends Print and Scan Doctor for Windows users remove the software and migrate to HP Smart.

Remove HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows)

Remove HP Print and Scan Doctor by deleting the desktop shortcut and application folders.

  1. Open Windows File Explorer.

  2. Click Desktop, and then delete the HP Print Scan Doctor shortcut if it exists.

  3. In File Explorer, enter C:\HP\Diagnostics\PSDR in the address bar.

  4. If the folder exists, delete it and all its contents.

  5. In File Explorer, enter C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\Diagnostics\PSDR in the address bar.

  6. If the folder exists, delete it and all its contents.

Note:

HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows is embedded within previous releases of HP Support Assistant prior to v. 9.40.48.0. It is recommended users of HP Support Assistant update to the latest release, available at HP Support Assistant | HP® Support.
